Our First Project of 2016
Impossible.
I think that’s always a good starting point.
This email isn’t short, but I would like for you to take 3 minutes to read it.
We started our nonprofit about four years ago with the idea that life was more than jobs, vacations & retirement accounts.
How could we impact others, through generosity out of the excess we’ve been blessed with?
In 2015, we fed thousands and thousands and spread generosity across the globe because our little community realized that generosity really does matter.
During our board meeting last fall, we were challenged to help the refugee crisis, but we didn’t even know where to start.
This past November, I met a guy from Iraq who has an amazing ministry starting churches and feeding Syrian refugees that are living indefinitely in Iraq.
Last year, they started a bakery that feeds 1,000 people a day! I knew this was our chance to get involved with this tragic humanitarian need.
I asked how we could help and found that we can build a bakery that will feed 1,000 people a day this year - and probably for years to come (that’s over 300,000 loaves of bread).
This past fall, I was telling the story of Hungry For A Day at Momentum Church in Gulf Breeze, Florida and my friend, Pastor Tim Payne, told the crowd that as long as he was standing there, it just wasn’t ok to have homeless kids in his town. (and it shouldn’t be ok for us to know millions of people are starving and without a home because some group has decided to take over a country to advance their radical agenda).
Let’s do something about it!
We can’t help all of the millions of refugees, but we can make a massive difference for 1,000 of them EVERY SINGLE DAY this year.
We need to raise $10,000 to build this bakery.
(less than 4¢ per loaf of bread)
Here's where we are:
- We had an excess of $1,873 given to our 2016 Operating Expenses campaign, we are giving that amount to this project.
- We've already had a donor give $1,000
That leaves us with $7,127 to raise by the end of February.
As far as I can tell, this is I M P O S S I B L E.
We’ve never raised this much money in one month for a partner, but I believe we can — with your help!
I was talking to a friend of mine this morning about the bakery, and he sent me this:
God can do anything, you know — far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us.
Ephesians 3:20
Wow! That sure fires me up to chase the I M P OS S I B L E.
If you can help — whether that’s giving money, having a yard sale, passing the plate at your church, selling crafts on Instagram or skipping meals — whatever you can do, we’ll use it. Let's dig deep. We can make an investment that will impact children and families for years.

Sincerely,
David Huey

P.S. There’s bad news. If we don’t raise the entire $10,000, we can’t build a bakery. If we’re below our goal, we’ll still use it to buy food for the refugee camps, but it will be a temporary band-aid and not a permanent solution.

In 2015, we fed thousands and thousands and spread generosity across the globe because our little community realized that generosity really does matter.
- This past fall we set a crazy goal of feeding 10,000 people the same Thanksgiving meal that we’d eat and we fed 12,992!
- Last month, we set the goal of raising out entire 2016 operating budget of $12,500 in one month and we raised over $14,000.

Merry Christmas!
Dear friends of Light of Life International,
This past year has been an eventful one as we have seen souls saved, people fed, and churches strengthened.
We accomplished more than we even thought possible and even as you read this, the ministry continues in Iraq. This wouldn’t have been possible without God guiding us. We are thankful for your partnership along the way as you have prayed and supported the ministry.
Looking forward to a next year that is as great as this year!
That we might be to the praise of his glory,
Irfan Abdullatif
